About this website

My first meeting with Omar Khayyám happened in my highschool years. We studied Dutch literature and it was a translation by the great Dutch poet J.H. Leopold that struck me for the first time. A second encouter took place some fifteen years later and this time it was FitzGerald's translation that hit me and never let me go. What followed was an ambition to build a library of published editions of the rubáiyát and books and articles about the rubáiyát, and over the years this website has become a result thereof.
