Second version of FitzGerald's translation (1868) Reissues of FitzGerald's translation of the Rubáiyát usually have the text of the first or that of the fourth version, whereas the second and third versions are hardly reprinted at all. Since 1929 no more than five editions of the second and the third version have seen the light, including this new edition by Barnes & Noble. Philosopher and poet Steven Schroeder wrote the introduction. The front cover shows a fragment of the front cover of the 'Great Omar', the third version of the binding, done by Stanley Bray. Contents: Introduction, p. vii Rubáiyát of Omar Khayyám, p. 1 Suggested reading, p. 111
