Rostami claims the necessity of a new translation in his perception of Khayyám not only as a man of science, philosophy and art, but above all an elucidator ("Aufklärer") of his times. The present translation presents 153 verses that may fairly be ascribed to Khayyám. With seventeen illustrations by Masoud Sadedin and an introduction by the translator. The verses are given in German as well as in Persian text.
